DES PLAINES, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2006--Schawk, Inc. (NYSE:SGK), one of North America's leading providers of digital imaging graphic services to the consumer products and brand imaging markets, announced today that it has sold its Book, Publishing, certain Catalog and former Applied Graphics Technologies' New York operations (the "Business Group") for $29 million in cash plus assumed liabilities to The Caps Group Acquisition, LLC. The Caps Group is a supplier of a variety of premedia services. The proceeds of the sale will be used to reduce debt.
The Business Group consists of certain assets of the former Black Dot Group and the former Applied Graphics Technologies, Inc.'s New York business produced at its 33rd St. location, along with certain related work from its previous location in New Jersey. The Business Group volume represents approximately $62 million of revenue on a full-year basis. Substantially all of the Business Group became part of Schawk with the acquisition of Seven Worldwide on January 31, 2005. Schawk anticipates that the transaction will have no material impact on Schawk's net income or earnings per share.
