Toshiba Strengthens its Accessory Portfolio

Cologne, Germany, September 2008 (PHOTOKINA) -- At Photokina 2008 Toshiba showcased an array of innovative devices and accessories.

Visitors were able to try their hand at Toshiba's new camcorders, digital photo frames, portable multimedia players, storage devices and the accessories enhancing consumers' digital lives at Toshiba's booth B008.

"The Toshiba accessories and devices on display at Photokina 2008 demonstrate how new technologies can help consumers manage and maximise their digital life," says Marco Perino, General Manager EMEA PC Options, Peripherals and Services Division, Toshiba Europe GmbH.

"During Photokina, Toshiba is showcasing a range of innovative devices that show how multimedia content can be brought into the living room -- wirelessly, easily, stylishly and affordably."

Camcorder: Recording in HD quality

A range of new high definition (HD) camcorders underlines Toshiba's aim to bring HD video quality to the mass market. The products cover the whole range from multifunctional device up to high-end camcorders for ambitious enthusiasts and prosumers. All the showcased digital camcorders, including the Gigashot A40FE, A100FE, K40HE, K80HE and Camileo H20 offer HD video quality.

PhotoFrames: Smart media devices for the home, office or on the move

The new digital photo frames Gigaframe Q80/Q81 and Gigaframe L80/L81 show photos on brilliant 4:3 displays with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. Photos can be viewed as a slide show or individually and the thumbnail mode makes it both quick and easy to search for specific photos stored in the built in 128 MB flash memory. But the Gigaframes are much more than just digital photo frames - they can also play back video clips and music and files can be imported from all popular memory cards.

The JournE M400 is more than just a portable TV

It is a stylish, easy-to-use multimedia player that allows users to watch movies, view pictures and listen to music. The compact device offers a intuitive user experience with its ergonomic design, anti-glare screen and 4.3 inch colour touch screen. The integrated DVB-T tuner enables users to watch TV wherever they are, even while on the move.

Storage: Wireless access to content everywhere

With StorE Air 2.5 inch and StorE Air 1.8 inch Toshiba is adding two wireless hard disk drives to its portfolio. Both work as a backup server and application server. The StorE Air 2.5 inch comes with a 2.5'' hard disk drive with a capacity of 320GB and is powered by an AC adaptor. The StorE Air 1.8 has a smaller 1.8'' hard disk drive which stores up to 160 GB of data and is powered by a Lithium Polymer battery which delivers up to 2 and a half hours of use. Both devices support WLAN and are able to connect to any Wi-Fi enabled CE device and PC of any operating system.

Storage: Multimedia HDD for a HD experience

The 2.5'' hard disk drive (HDD) of StorE TV, Toshiba's new MultiMedia HDD Player, has a capacity of 320 GB or 500 GB, depending on configuration. It is designed for consumers who want to store and playback all kinds of digital multimedia content through a single, versatile device. The MultiMedia HDD Player plays video in High Definition formats and stores photos. Music files can be handled in MP3, WMA, AAC or OGG format.
