The Sundance Photographic Workshop summer series is set for the Week of August 23-27.
August at Sundance is exhilarating. It is warm by day and nights can have a chill meriting a cozy fire after hours. This year, Sundance will host two very talented photographers, Brenda Tharp and John Running, who will make your stay lively as well as educational. Their professional talents will lead you through the exceptional moments of the day, say organizers.
Brenda Tharp, an award-winning outdoor and travel photographer, is recognized for her strong design sense and personal vision. It takes a creative eye and a mastering of technique when photographing nature. Brenda will demonstrate how to use the existing design of nature in your compositions to create images with impact. Portraits are some combination of design, technique and intuition.
John Running returns to Sundance to teach portraiture both in the studio and on location. His images stand out because they have a style that is personally creative and graphically strong. Give him 1/125th of a second and he will give you so much more.

About the Sundance Photographic Workshop
The Sundance Photographic Workshops are held at the Sundance Resort, the artistic, cultural and recreational community founded in 1969 by actor Robert Redford. The resort was recently voted #6 among U.S. resorts by Condé Nast Traveler - and #1 among mountain resorts. It also served as the original home for the renowned Sundance Film Festival before its growing fame dictated its relocation to nearby Park City.
Nestled discreetly in the foothills of Mt. Timpanogos, the Sundance Resort is crafted to preserve the area's breathtaking, rich environment, while providing world-class accommodations for workshop participants.
The resort's relaxing, picturesque setting offers the ideal-as well as inspirational-backdrop for the Sundance Photographic Workshops. Classes are held in Sundance's spacious function suites, as well as in field excursions to capture outdoor, nature and wildlife photographs. Small class sizes enable numerous opportunities for one-on-one instruction and daily courses are complemented with after-dinner presentations of instructor and student photo portfolios.
The all-inclusive fee includes comfortable lodging in private mountainside cottages, as well as a complete meal plan that includes gourmet dining in The Tree Room, recipient of the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond award and the Wine Spectator award.
Complete course descriptions and registration information for the August 23 - 27 and November 8 -12 workshops are available at www.sundanceworkshop.com.
