New MicroFourThirds-Standard Lens Adapter Released

Lens adapter can mount Panasonic's Lumix cameras.

December 15, 2008--Novoflex, a German manufacturer of digital and analog accessories has announced the availability of a new lens adapter to mount Leica M lenses onto the new MicroFourThirds-Standard camera bodies which include the Panasonic Lumix G1, a new Olympus as well as camera bodies that will become available next year using the new MicroFourThirds-Standard system.

The new Leica M adapter is made to very precise and high standards to ensure exact infinity focus on these new camera bodies. With the Lumix G1 automatic exposure metreing via stop-down metering is possible as is aperture priority auto exposure. Besides the Leica M adapter Novoflex will also be releasing adapters to use Leica R, Nikon, Contax/Yashica, Olympus OM, Pentax and Minolta MD lenses on the new MicroFourThirds-Standard camera bodies. These additional new adapters will be introduced in February 2009.

Novoflex offers a full range of lens to body adapters for most 35mm and DSLR cameras as well as for Leica M cameras.

These adapters allow the switching of many lenses from one camera system to another as well as using lenses from medium format cameras on these bodies. The new Leica M to MicrFourThirds-Standard adapter will be available from the start of 2009 from HP marketing Corp. dealers in the USA.

I also would like to see new adapters for mounts not previously adaptable to the Four Thirds:

1) Olympus Pen F = 28.95 mm
2) Konica F = 40.50 mm
3) Canon FD = 42.00 mm
