International Photographic Council Names Director of Public Relations

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, September 12, 2008 - The International Photographic Council (IPC), a non-governmental organization (NGO) of the United Nations, has announced that Alice B. Miller has been named its Director of Public Relations, effective September 1, 2008.

In his announcement, IPC president James Chung said, "As an IPC board member and vice president, Alice has provided valuable editorial and reporting services to our organization for several years."

He added: "This past May, she chaired our 10th Annual Pro Awards Luncheon at the United Nations with grace, humor, and efficiency. She is a dedicated professional and I am pleased she is now our Director of Public Relations."

Formerly the editor of Studio Photography magazine, Miller currently provides editorial and marketing communications services to the photo industry through Plum Communications, her Long Island-based company.

IPC is a multinational non-governmental organization of the UN, composed of representatives from every major sector of the photographic industry. Founded in 1974, it is dedicated to increasing worldwide recognition of photography as a universal means of communication through the adoption of a motto, "Peace Through Understanding, Understanding Through Photography, the Universal Language."
