Woodstock, IL--August 1, 2008--Hahnemuhle FineArt has just announced the availability of new Photo Rag Ultra Smooth and Photo Rag Baryta inkjet papers. Both of these new offerings are archival-quality, acid-free papers ideal for producing beautiful, museum-quality prints in either black & white or color.
New Photo Rag Ultra Smooth features a smooth surface with a premium, silk-finish coating that is suitable for both black & white and color printing. It reproduces a full spectrum of subtle nuances in color and contrast, even in the deepest shadow areas. With a weight of 305 gsm, this new Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper has a substantial, "just-right" feel to it.
Hahnemuhle's new Photo Rag Baryta combines the advantages of a pure cotton inkjet paper, with the unequalled appearance of a traditional baryta darkroom paper. Its glossy, finely structured coating contains barium sulfate that imparts a uniquely stunning quality to any image.
Noted Paris fashion photographer, Neil Snape describes new Photo Rag Baryta: "It appears white yet restrained. Glossy but not artificial.
"The perfect balance between brilliance and reflection. With these attributes, this new paper will be a first choice for prestigious gallery prints."
Photo Rag Baryta is available in 315 gsm and, although primarily developed for gallery-quality black & white printing, also produces luminous color images.
The Hahnemuhle paper mill has been producing quality artist's papers for over 420 years. Since its founding in 1584 they have developed experience and a tradition of excellence in art materials that is now been brought to the digital age, and fine art inkjet printing. The German based company whose headquarters are in Dassel, has 150 employees worldwide.
