New York, NY, February 3, 2009 - Just in time for Valentine's Day, Animoto (www.animoto.com), the video creation platform that lets users quickly and easily create professional-quality videos from their own photos and music, today introduced two new features that turn regular Animoto videos into beautiful, romantic Valentine's Day greetings.
With the single click of a button, users can now send Animoto video love letters framed in a vibrant, heart-themed animated page. The recently introduced text feature completes the offering: users can add sweet notes, special memories, significant dates and other romantic touches to make their Animoto video even more personal.
Valentine's Day is also the first time users will be able to mix images from Animoto's new themed collections into their videos, courtesy of a new partnership with iStockphoto, the world's leading royalty-free stock destination. Just as television producers, videographers and scrapbookers have relied on stock imagery to establish context and enhance their work, Animoto users can now do the same by selecting images from five categories:
Valentine's Day - flowers, hearts, chocolates, candies and champagne Birthday - candles, cake, presents and party hats Travel - maps, roads, planes, trains and automobiles Nature - mountains, lakes, trees, waterfalls and sunsets Scenes - cities, skylines, cafes and apartment buildings
"One of the first Animoto videos ever made was one my co-founder, Jason Hsiao, created to propose to his wife," said CEO & Co-founder Brad Jefferson. "When we heard, with relief, that she said yes, we realized the romantic potential of Animoto videos. Since then, we have heard from literally thousands of people who have used Animoto videos to express sentiments of love to their significant others. In fact, just a few weeks ago, one user proposed with an Animoto video on his iPod Touch! The new Valentine's Day sharing feature is sure to impress the pants off your loved one."
With Animoto, romantic gestures don't have to break the bank. Creating an Animoto Valentine greeting and sharing it is free for 30-second videos or $3 for full-length videos. Annual subscriptions to create an unlimited number of full-length videos are $30.
The heart of Animoto is its Cinematic Artificial Intelligence technology that thinks like an actual director and editor using the same sophisticated post-production skills and techniques that are used in television and film. The technology takes into account every nuance of a song: the genre, song structure, energy, rhythm, instrumentation, and vocals. No two videos are ever the same; even videos generated with an identical set of images and music will each have a completely distinct set of motion design.
