HP Unveils Premier Gallery at Calumet Photographic

NEW YORK, May 31, 2007 - HP today unveiled the HP Gallery at Calumet Photo, a new, permanent fine art and commercial photography gallery at Calumet Photographic's new Manhattan store located in the center of the Photo District. The gallery officially opens today with the HP-sponsored Francis Hills exhibit, "The Accidental Photographer," which continues through July 28, 2007.

"HP's collaboration with Calumet celebrates the art of photography by offering a premier venue in the center of the world's photographic community," said Francis McMahon, North America Marketing Director, HP Graphic Arts.  "We are pleased to continue our support of rising and established artists by providing leading photo printing technologies, as demonstrated in our work with Santa Fe Workshops and the HP/CARE 'I Am Powerful' project."

The HP Gallery at Calumet Photo will host a number of exhibits created on HP professional printing technologies. Hills' exhibit, which showcases more than 50 images from his celebrity, fashion, beauty, Clothing Immaterial and French Foreign Legion collections, was produced with the HP Designjet Z3100 and HP Photosmart Pro B9180 photo printers on HP professional photo papers.

"Since our mission is to empower the world of image makers, we are delighted to join forces with HP in our New York store gallery," said Michael Miller, president of Calumet Photographic. "It is our hope the gallery becomes a forum for discussion and a venue for development within the art field."

Using HP 70 Vivera pigment inks on a variety of HP photo and fine art media, the HP Designjet Z3100 and HP Photosmart Pro B9180 produce vivid, museum-quality images with outstanding longevity. These printers also leverage HP DreamColor Technologies, so fine artists and professional photographers can easily, accurately and predictably reproduce the colors they see across digital devices. HP Designjet Z3100 12-ink Photo Printer series employs the industry's first embedded spectrophotometer, utilizing Eye-One Color Technology from GretagMacbeth/X-Rite, and is designed to deliver intuitive, dependable and repeatable color accuracy for 24- and 44-inch museum-quality prints. The HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Professional Photo Printer based on HP's Scalable Printing Technology delivers exceptional quality, durability and permanence with increased speeds - producing a 4 x 6-inch print in as fast as 10 seconds and a 13 x 19-inch photo in as fast as 1.5 minutes.
