Art Workshops in Guatemala offers a unique cultural experience as a part of photography workshops taught by innovative and successful photographers.
Here's our schedule of photography workshops for '2007/2008:
October 26 - November 4 2007
Portraiture / Exploring the Soul of Guatemala during Todos Santos with Nance Ackerman
March 6 - 15 2008
Photography / Capturing Guatemala's Light and Contrasts (with a focus on digital photography) with David H Wells
October 26 - November 4 2008
Spirit of Place with Doug Beasley
The workshops are held in Antigua, Guatemala, where colorful bougainvillea spill over tumbling rocks of centuries-old ruins. Indigenous women's 'traje' and cobblestone streets inspire unique images. It's a delightful small town with an international ambiance featuring spectacular visuals, fabulous restaurants, funky outdoor cafés but most importantly, warm-hearted, welcoming people. Students will also visit the breathtakingly gorgeous western highlands of Guatemala, where they'll shoot Mayan markets and volcanoes rising out of the early morning mists of Lake Atitlan. Incredible images abound.
Total package price, including tuition (but not photo supplies), lodging in lovely colonial style B&B, a hearty breakfast each morning, all ground transportation and some pretty interesting cultural experiences is approximately US$1,745.
