THE HALLMARK MUSEUM (www.hmcp.org) presents Silk Road and The Great Wall, opening September 27 at Hallmark Museum of Contemporary Photography. Photographer Michael Yamashita explores the travels of 13th-century Marco Polo, Chinese Admiral Zheng and his 15th-century voyages, and the Great Wall of China. The exhibit runs through December 16, 2007.
THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS (www.mfa.org) presents Houston Wilderness: A Collaboration, September 22, 2007 to January 6, 2008. The exhibition’s 50-plus images offer different interpretations of the eco-regions in and around Houston.
THE NY HISTORICAL SOCIETY (www.nyhistory.org) announced Here Is New York: Remembering 9/11/01, an exhibit featuring more than 1,000 photographs, a moving display of artifacts pulled from the rubble, and hundreds of oral histories. The show runs through January 1, 2008, at The New-York Historical Society, 170 Central Park West at 77th Street.
