He also explains that while he'll often bring his own lighting, most of the gear photographers need is available right there at the studio—again, a cost savings to your bottom line.
Truran is the author of ADD for Fun and Profit, a book for younger people who have been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and love photography and the arts. "I hate to see anyone interested in the arts trip on a stumbling block, whether it be from a business standpoint or otherwise," he says. "I think I have the best job in the world, really—I just think it's cool. Getting paid to shoot is like heaven on earth, so for me to earn a living at it, what could be better?
