MediaGear just introduced its ImageBank DPP-TV, a portable CD-RW drive that can also be connected to a TV for viewing and editing images. You can use the DPP-TV to download images from all 12 media card formats, CDs, and thumbdrives. Micro Solutions expanded its line with the introduction of the DVD-burning RoadStor PRO, which can write to DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R, and CD-RW media. The company also offers a CD-burning RoadStor that's able to read DVDs.
The RoadStor units can read from all of the popular media card formats, and offer connectivity to Mac and PC computers, as well as TV. The RoadStor PRO is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery and features a USB 2.0 interface. The unit supports media cards above 1GB in capacity. Nikon offers the Coolwalker Digital Photo Storage Viewer, a portable hard disk drive with a capacity of 30GB and a 2.5" LCD. The Coolwalker lets you download images from CompactFlash Type I and II cards, is Mac and PC compatible, and has USB 2.0 connectivity, as well as output to TV. The unit is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery and comes with an AC adapter.
The Coolwalker supports JPEG, TIFF, and RAW (NEF) file formats, and can display images in thumbnail, slideshow, and zoom (JPEG images only). The Coolwalker can display histograms and shooting information, play audio and QuickTime Motion JPEGs, and is PictBridge compatible.SmartDisk FlashTrax
SmartDisk offers the FlashTrax, a portable hard disk drive with a 3.5" LCD and connectivity to both TVs and Mac and Windows-based PCs. Sony offers its Photo Vault Mini CD-R Station, which accepts Memory Stick media and burns images onto 8cm mini CD-R media. The device can be connected to computers and TV for viewing. Additionally, the USB port can be used for connecting a USB-enabled flash drive to the unit for burning images off the flash drive. The Photo Vault Mini CD-R Station can be powered by AA batteries or an AC adapter. The mini CD media can hold a maximum capacity of 200MB each.
