Digital Reinvention: Herrmann + Starke's Commanding Digital Works

CLIENT SERVICE PLUS

While tops at winning clients with their dedication to customer service, professionalism, and out-of-the-box problem-solving, it is Herrmann + Starke's collaborative approach during a shoot that clients find so engaging.

"Part of why our partnership works so well is that we each have our own domains," says Herrmann. "If it's about lighting, Michael gets the final say. If it's about styling or composition, I rule. We listen to each other and respect each other." Clients trust them, know they take their work very seriously, and never promise anything they can't deliver.

TOOLING UP FOR TODAY

Their listening skills and ability to grasp a client's vision is of tremendous value, especially in the current economy, where job security is practically non-existent.

"These days, our clients are all looking over their shoulders, so part of our job is making sure that we help them succeed in their jobs. It's our goal to make sure that our clients, their clients, and all of their bosses feel that hiring our studio was one of the best decisions they could have made," says Herrmann.

Having carved out an impressive niche for themselves in the digital realm, the duo regularly share their digital expertise in a traveling seminar entitled "Working Digitally," hosted by ASMP chapters throughout the U.S.

"The cup in this industry is definitely at the halfway mark, but whether it's half full or half empty, I really couldn't say," she says. "I just try to keep my knees flexed, so I'm ready to move in whatever direction I need to go in next."
