"She takes care of all promotion and keeps me in front of the right clients," says Munro. "We met several years ago and things just clicked. Elaine has been in the business for years, representing some incredibly talented famous photographers. Our working relationship is very strong. She manages clients so I can focus on photography."
To promote Munro, Korn relies on core marketing tactics, but her real secret is perseverance and finding new ways to reach the right audience. Recently, she hosted a luncheon in Manhattan for 15 art buyers, associates with whom she has worked over the years. After the event, she had five inquiries and two potential jobs for Munro with large pharmaceutical firms.
In October, Munro hosted a gallery showing at Duggal Visual Solutions in New York City. Sponsored by Avon and Kodak, the exhibit drew over 600 guests. He is currently working on a book highlighting images and moods from various exotic locations around the world.
As curious as ever about life, people, and exploring new ways to capture a moment, Munro relishes each new assignment. "I love to do anything that comes my way." Notwithstanding his admitted curiousity in digital capture—he's currently trying out the Canon 1Ds—he remains faithful to his Hasselblad.
Keeping it simple in an evolving, interactive world.
