"The people at Signature Backgrounds realize not all photographers have the same needs. We like to be creative, and we're often under a great deal of pressure. They're great about accommodating my deadlines, making custom changes, and since they create all the backdrops themselves, the pictures I submit are very true to the backdrops I receive. I own about 15 of their backdrops, and I'm sure I'll continue to turn to Signature when I need something new." —Jean Anderson, Anderson Studio/Colorful Concepts, Centennial, CO
Studio Dynamics is offering its new "Two-in-One" backdrops: The backdrop, either muslin or canvas, has two different designs (an abstract design and a softer blended design) at each end, both of which merge in the center. Use the whole backdrop to incorporate both designs or just feature one end.
Virtual Backgrounds introduces the portable Spectravue 300, which includes many of the features of the Scene Machine Digital at a lower cost. Use its 35-80mm zoom lens, magnetic slide carrier, and six-shooter carousel to project any background with no need for post-shoot manipulation. The unit is designed for use with digital cameras in vertical and horizontal positions. For more on the profit potential of virtual backdrops, check out Background Power! by Henry J. Wicker by Design
Set the stage for dramatic child photography with original designs from Wicker by Design. One of the company's newest pieces is a Baby Bed, which can be used for a variety of poses: Babies and children can be photographed sitting, standing, kneeling, and lying down. The bed, available in whitewash ivory and classic white, features a metal frame for strength, is close to the floor for safety, and offers a canopy option for an elegant framing effect.
