Sony introduced the Photo Vault Mini CD-R Station, offering a portable, PC-free solution for burning photos directly from digital still cameras to mini CD-R.
Burning image files to 8cm mini CD-R discs, the unit connects to digital cameras via USB interface; and an AV output lets users display images on TV. The Photo Vault also features a Memory Stick media interface. It can be powered using either an AC adaptor or AA batteries.
Lexar Media released 80x CompactFlash memory cards. With this introduction, Lexar Media has enhanced its products for professional photographers and all digital camera users requiring faster write times. Lexar's Professional Series includes CompactFlash cards in five different capacities including 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB, rated at 80x. The company released a new 40x CompactFlash card with a capacity of 8GB. Lexar also introduced Secure Digital memory cards speed-rated at 60x.
SimpleTech, Inc. announced 8 GB Type II CompactFlash cards, using the company's patented stacking technology. The company also announced 2, 4, and 5 GB Type I cards and a significant increase to the write speed of its entire ProX line of CompactFlash cards.
SimpleTech also announced the availability of the SimpleDrive External Hard Drive in 160GB and 250GB capacities, adding to its existing line of SimpleDrive External Hard Drives. The Drives connect via USB 2.0 and are compatible with Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
