CASIO
Catching the Consumer's Eye
by John
Clough, President, Casio, Inc.
With an estimated 8.2 million digital cameras sold in the U.S.
in 2002, and an estimated 11.5 million slated for 2003, the state
of the digital photographic industry is a healthy one. And there's
no doubt that digital cameras are really catching the eye of the
consumer as they become more affordable and easier to use than ever
before.
Advances in digital photographic technology enabled Casio to bring
out the QV-R40, a 4.0 megapixel camera that boasts the fastest
power up time in the industry-one second-as of July, 2003. The
camera has a 0.01-second release time lag, which is the time from
when the shutter release is fully depressed with the monitor screen
and built-in flash turned off and focus locked.
