Photo specialty today competes with more channels than everconsumer electronics, computer stores, office superstores, warehouse outlets, mass merchants, drug stores, mail order and websites. The difference between these channels and photo specialty, according to Ritz, is that photo specialty retailers have the experience and a knowledge of photography in addition to being updated on the newest products available.
"Working together can benefit everyone, the retailer and the manufacturer. If the industry doesn't work together, it could mean the eventual demise of photo specialty retail," Ritz said.
