Casio, Inc. launches the QV-3500EX, a new 3.34 megapixel CCD digital camera with built-in "Best-Shot." Two bundles are available, the QV-3500EX with 16 MB memory card and the QV-3500EXplus with the 340 MB IBM Microdrive.
Casio also announced that it has partnered with Epson America, Inc. to incorporate PRINT Image Matching Technology in the QV-3500EX and in future digital camera models as well. The QV-3500EX employs a F/2.0 Canon 3x optical zoom lens in conjunction with a true 3.34 megapixel CCD. Bundled with Photo Loader software for automatic image transfer and offering IBM Microdrive support, the QV-3500EX works in perfect harmony with a personal computer.
Fujifilm is now the exclusive U.S. Distributor of the Luma Back, which is manufactured to Fujifilm specifications by Mosaic Imaging, formerly the Digital Camera Division of Sienna Imaging, Inc. The Luma Back is designed for use with the Fujifilm GX680III and other medium format cameras. The Luma Back offers a full format 3.6cm x 2.4cm CCD array with 2,048 x 3,072 pixel resolution. The Luma is a One-Shot digital back and is fully compatible with strobe, tungsten, HMI and daylight sources of illumination. ISO can be set from 25 up to 200.

New Tokina AT-X 242 AF (24-200) Lens
THK Photo Products, Inc., the U.S. distributor for Tokina lenses, Hoya filters, and Kenko photo accessories, announces the new Tokina AT-X 242 AF, 24-200mm, f/3.5-5.6, auto-focusing zoom lens. The AT-X 242 AF is the first lens to start at 24mm and zoom all the way to 200mm, and is currently the widest zoom range available starting at 24mm. Optically, the 242 uses high quality optical glass multicoated lens elements created by Hoya Corporation. Internal focus means the 72mm filter threads do not move during focusing. With an internal focusing lens it is not necessary to readjust the position of the filter every time the focus is changed. Focus distance is indicated on the manual focus ring.
The AT-X 242 AF is available in Canon EOS, Minolta AF, Nikon-D, and Pentax AF mounts.
New from Burnes of Boston are a collection of four Pfaltzgraff "Summer Breeze" photo magnets. The magnets each hold a 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" photo. A scalloped, rectangular shape features Summer Breeze's blue on blue vine motif; round and square magnets offer a floral design of blue and green pansies on a white background with orange accents and a watering can magnet combines the two.
