The HDC-SD1 and HDC-DX1 are Panasonic's most recent entries: Both models use the high-resolution AVCHD format and feature the kind of 3CCD video-recording system used in many pro broadcast cameras. Panasonic's Optical Image Stabilizer is also incorporated, to minimize the shake effect.
The Sanyo HD2 features a new 7.38-megapixel CCD image sensor that dramatically improves low-light sensitivity. For optimized performance, a new HDMI digital interface, built into the HD2's multifunction docking station, provides all-digital output to HDTVs and high-def video recorders.
The Sony HDR-SR1 boasts a 30GB hard drive and records video in full 1080 HD and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. The camera also features a 3.5-inch-wide Hybrid Touch Panel Clear Photo LCD and multiple connectivity options.
