Noritsu Unveils New
High-Speed Digital Lab
Noritsu added a high-speed, fully digital minilab to its line with its first U.S. showing at PhotoPlus in New York. Referred to as Model 3411, the high-volume system carries a list price of about $200,000. Richard Houghland, Noritsu's new sales VP, said he felt the unit would be suited for a pro lab, high-volume minilab, or high-volume mass-merchant environment. It won't replace any existing models.
The specifications indicate the unit will output 2,000 4R/hr. from film and 2,100 from digital sources, as well as 500 8x10s/hr. from either source. Maximum print size is 12x36 inches.
One unique feature of the Model 3411 is that it comes equipped with two paper magazines and that it can be expanded to either three or four separate magazines. This gives the operator the best possible efficiency in producing prints on various surfaces and sizes without stopping to change magazines.
The unit can be ordered with print sort trays sized for either 4- or 8-inch prints at no additional charge.
The available digital software offers a variety of specialty product options, including calendars, album pages, business cards, package prints, etc.
Other standard features are red-eye correction, manual or automatic, and Digital ICE correction for dust and scratches. A multidrive input unit that will accept a full array of digital sources is similar to that in the Noritsu CT-2 consumer terminal.
Richard said the 3411 will also be on display at PMA-Orlando but is available for shipment now. —J.L.
