Services, Software Help Lure Digital Customers Back to Store




Store-branded software can be one of the most effective ways to promote imaging services to consumers and lure them back to the lab, according to Joe Zarrehparvar, CEO of Trevoli Software (www.trevoli.com), publisher of Photo Finale. The imaging software suite includes tools for organizing, enhancing and sharing digital image files and ordering prints of images from the retailer who provided the software. Photo Finale is sold for $39.95 suggested retail or included as a co-branded imaging solution on photo CDs created by the lab.

Earlier this year, the company announced a customized version of Photo Finale would be available to members of the PRO buying group of photo specialty retailers. The software, co-branded for Trevoli and the participating retailers, includes the same tool set as the retail version.

According to Zarrehparvar, programs like this give retailers the chance to use the software to promote store name, logo and web link to their digital imaging customers. Consumers can use this link to learn about services or upload image files for printing.

"Co-branding the software gives the customer a reason to return to the retailer," he says. "When a customer is inside our software and wants to buy prints, the software points them toward the retailer who supplied them Photo Finale, including the retailer's latest pricing information."

Zarrehparvar says the software is set up so the only professional print option presented to users is the service available at the sponsoring retailer. "If you don't provide the customer with a reason to go back to the store you, could lose their print business," he advises.
