a. PENTAX USA (www.pentaxusa.com) debuts the Optio 33WR, a 3.2-megapixel watertight digital camera with a 2.8x zoom lens. The compact camera, recording images to SD/MMC media, offers a movie mode with sound and voice memo, multiple shooting modes, and the capability of using multiple power sources. The 33WR ships with the latest ACDSee software.
b. SHARP (www.sharpsystems.com) presents the Actius RD3D, the first notebook in its notebook line to offer eye-popping 3D visuals and easy switch back to 2D viewing. The notebook, with a 15-inch XGA LCD screen and Intel Pentium 4, 2.80GHz processor, has a NVIDIA GeForce 4 440 Go graphic processor with 64MB of dedicated graphics memory that powers the 3D imagery display. Special glasses not needed for viewing 3D images.
c. LOWEPRO (www.lowepro.com) has introduced D-Pods, camera
pouches for compact and ultra-compact digital cameras. They feature
a pocket for memory cards, accessory pocket for small items such as
batteries, a SlipLock attachment tab, and adjustable shoulder
strap. Six models fit a variety of cameras from different
manufacturers.
d. PACIFIC DIGITAL (www.pacificdigital.com) presents the Deluxe
8x10 Memoryframe (MF-810S), a digital photo frame featuring stereo
sound for music or voice replay. The MF-810S connects to a digital
camera, thumb drive, card reader, and computer via USB for
downloading of images. It comes bundled with Digital PixMaster
software for adding special effects and can display photo captions,
thumbnails, and slideshows.
e. SONY (www.sony.com) introduces the DCR-PC330 Handycam camcorder to capture digital video and quality digital still images. Featuring a 3.31-megapixel single-CCD, Carl Zeiss optics, and a 10x optical/120x digital zoom, the camcorder records video to MicroMV media and still images to Memory Stick or Memory Stick PRO.
f. SAMSUNG (www.samsungusa.-com) previews two
high-end flat-panel LCD monitors, the 15" SyncMaster 153T and 17"
SyncMaster 173T. Both monitors sport dual analog and digital
inputs, narrow bezels, and Pivot technology, which lets users
switch between portrait and landscape for full-page viewing.
g. VERBATIM (www.verbatim.com) presents a family of
DigitalMovie 1x-4x DVD recordable media with the look of old movie
reels. The DVD media, like Verbatim's Digital Vinyl CD-R discs that
look like 45-rpm records, let you personalize your archives.
Packaged in clear DVD Super Jewel Box cases, they come in
three-packs of 4.7GB DVD-R or DVD+R media.
h. CANON (www.usa.canon.com) offers the LV-7215, LV-7210, and LV-5210 microportable LCD projectors with optional networking through Wired LAN and Wireless LAN and CompactFlash capability for use without a computer. The projectors' ultra-wide 1.6x zoom lens projects large images from a short distance between the lens and screen. The LV-7215 and LV7210 offer Native XGA resolution; the LV-5210 offers Native SVGA resolution.
i. DELKIN DEVICES (www.delkin.com) is now
shipping a FireWire Reader/Writer (Reader-24) for CompactFlash
media. Designed to speed up workflow, the external tabletop unit
accepts CompactFlash Type I and II cards and Microdrives. Reader-24
connects to Macs and Windows-based PCs via FireWire and runs on its
own power.
j. DIGISTOR (www.digistor.com) offers the Digistor UltraSlim
DVD Multi Burner, featuring plug & play PC connectivity through
USB 2.0 and FireWire connections. With a complete suite of DVD
authoring, editing, recording, and playback software, the compact
unit features slot loading and burns 4.7GB DVD-R/-RW/RAM media and
700MB CD-R/-RW discs.
k. KINETRONICS (www.kinetronics.com) introduces Digital Camera Screen Protectors, self-adhering vinyl sheets that protect the LCD on the rear of digital cameras and camcorders, and a Digital Memory Card Contact Cleaning Kit for cleaning media card contacts. The kit includes cleaning solvent, swabs, and anti-static Tiger Cloths.
l. WALLFLOWER SYSTEMS (www.wallflower-systems.com) presents Wallflower, an electronic photo frame with a viewable 8x10-inch area that uses WiFi connectivity and a hard drive to load, store, and display thousands of images. The frame's software helps compile photo albums on Macs and Windows-based PCs and transfer them to the frame via a WiFi (802.11b) wireless network connection. Wallflower comes in a variety of finishes.
