Fascinated by the incredible opportunities for creative expression, we grudgingly sacrifice a decent portion of our day to the computer. Recently though, I discovered a way to minimize my 2:00 a.m. sessions.

Facing an approaching deadline for a juried art show, I hustled to locate a fine-art printmaker. Happily, an email arrived alerting me to the fact that Graphik Dimensions Ltd., the 42-year-old framing and printing company and parent company of pictureframes.com, had recently employed a very talented master giclee printmaker, William Tiemann. I immediately contacted customer service and explained to an extremely patient specialist that I had about 10 days in which to prepare for the launch of my fine art gallery of images.

After explaining the procedure in detail, she assured me that someone would personally oversee the project, from upload to delivery of finished framed prints. I had relied on their excellent frame quality and reliable service for the past 17 years, so I committed without hesitation.

Ordering online proved to be hassle-free. There’s no need to be a client of Graphik Dimensions, like I am. Everyone can order professionally printed, matted, and framed presentations. After uploading the images to the website at www.pictureframes.com/

, I was able to process each one individually. The intuitive program automatically indicates the maximum size orderable for high-quality output. I entered the finished dimensions and selected from the impressive list of fine art papers and canvases.

Next, I was able to “virtually” view a variety of mats and frames on the piece, a feature that can prevent costly mistakes because you actually see what the final treatment will look like before you actually make your purchase. As my order was created, the invoice was constantly recalculating on the same page. It was gratifying to see that I would be able to price quite profitably. The “My Gallery” feature let me view saved presentations and their costs, side-by-side.

Sooner than expected, I received framed prints and gallery-wrapped canvases. I was in awe, and I’m my own worst critic!

Graphik Dimensions, with their enthusiasm, knowledge, and extensive line of services, was in the right place at the right time for me. Our relationship will continue as I reconstruct my website using their online printing and framing tools to accelerate my print sales and develop new marketing strategies and branding concepts. The depth of their website, www.pictureframes.com, makes it an incredible photographic resource.

Becoming familiar with all the site and the company have to offer is time very well spent—even at 2:00 a.m.!
