Ideal for portraiture, product, or automotive, the Lightbar 130 works with the Tria, the Vela (up to 3000) with adapter cables (5780), the Porty, and the Mini. The Lightbar 130 is lightweight, with handles on each end for easy manipulation. With the addition of barn doors, users can slim down the light to a narrow beam.

SANYO
SANYO (www.sanyo.com) announced details about a new ultraportable projector, the PLC-XW60, the industry’s smallest and lightest XGA LCD projector. Weighing a mere 3.6 pounds, it’s small enough to carry in one hand, offering simple setup, and includes features such as automatic keystone correction, automatic input signal detection, an adjustable color mode for projecting on different surface colors, and an easy-off function that allows users to pull the plug and store the projector without waiting for a cool-down cycle.

PRINTROOM
Printroom (www.printroom.com) introduced a new service that enables photographers to offer their clients custom, dedicated websites for events. Printroom’s new Flash-based Event Website Builder makes it possible for photographers to add significant value to their event photography packages with little to no cost or effort. A high degree of flexibility and customization makes these easy-to-create sites suitable for weddings, portraits, family events, sports, school, and organization functions. Each event receives a unique web address, which provides visitors with simple navigation to the event’s website. An easy-to-use, Flash-based website-building wizard guides the photographer in a few straightforward steps through setup and offers unlimited layout options. Photographers can work on their own, side-by-side with clients, or even provide password-protected VIP access to event holders.

X-RITE, INC.
X-Rite, Inc. (www.xrite.com), along with recently acquired Pantone, Inc. (www.pantone.com), introduced ColorMunki, designed to meet the requirements of creatives working in a digital environment. The ColorMunki family includes ColorMunki Photo, which is a completely integrated, versatile solution that calibrates displays, projectors, and printers, measures ambient light, and captures spot colors; ColorMunki Design, which enables users to select, specify, and store color palettes in a calibrated environment, assuring precise color viewing and reproduction; and ColorMunki Create, which offers spectral color selection from system-level color pickers, inspirational images, color harmonies, and keyword searches, with the ability to snap-to PANTONE Goe Colors for repurposing into usable palettes.

ONONE SOFTWARE, INC.
onOne Software, Inc. (www.ononesoftware.com) announced its new plug-in for Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, the FocalPoint 1.0. FocalPoint is a selective focus and vignetting plug-in designed to help photographers easily blur and/or vignette areas of an image. Providing photographers with a way to create realistic depth-of-field control, plane-of-focus control, and selective focus to any image after it is captured, FocalPoint allows for more control and precision. The plug-in’s unique FocusBug control has a tangible, hardware feel, much like adjusting a lens.

SIGMA CORPORATION
Sigma Corporation (www.sigmaphoto.com) announced the 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM standard lens. This is a large-aperture prime lens with a standard focal length of 50mm, ideal for all digital SLR cameras. This lens has superior peripheral brightness even at the maximum aperture and corrects a possible sagittal coma flare. It effectively becomes an 80mm medium telephoto lens on digital cameras with APS-C-size image sensors. The super multilayer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting. With a minimum focusing distance of 17.7 inches and maximum magnification of 1:7.4, the lens creates a very attractive blur, even when a small aperture is used.
