Epson America, Inc.

Epson America, Inc. (www.epson.com) debuted Epson Perfection V700, a scanner that delivers unprecedented 6500 dpi optical resolution using a new Dual Lens System and features a fluid-mount accessory for enhanced scratch removal and grain reduction from black-and-white film. A new High Pass Optics feature further optimizes image quality by using anti-reflective coatings on the CCD lens and a new high-reflection mirror. The scanner also offers high-resolution (4800dpi) scanning for transparency and reflective scanning.

Apple

Apple (www.apple.com) released Aperture 1.1, a significant update to the all-in-one post-production tool for photographers that runs natively on both Intel- and Power PC-based Macs. The software update features improved RAW image rendering and a new set of advanced RAW adjustment controls. At a new lower price, Aperture 1.1 delivers impressive speed gains on any Mac, including desktop performance on a MacBook Pro.

Kubota Image Tools

Kubota Image Tools (kubotaimagetools), with the help of Kevin Kubota, has created another product to enhance professional, digital photographs. Now retro-looking sloppy borders, difficult to produce in digital, can be achieved using a simple package of 100 ready-to-use sloppy border variations that anyone with Photoshop CS or newer can use. The kit, Sloppy Borders Vol. One, works best with rectangular images, but also works with other standard crops.

Gitzo

Gitzo (www.bogenimaging.com) adds to both its Mountaineer line and its new line of carbon fiber tripods with the Mountaineer GT2540L 2 Series 6X Long Tripod. The new tripod incorporates a revolutionary design process that reduces its overall weight up to 17 percent without sacrificing strength or stability. Available in a four-leg section configuration and with a maximum capacity of 17.65 pounds, the tripod enables photographers to hold equipment up to eye level without extending the center column.

Memorex

Memorex’s (www.memorex.com) TravelDrive ID is the first USB flash drive with a built-in LCD. The LCD screen not only helps users keep multiple USB flash drives organized by allowing them to display a descriptive name for the drive and its contents, it shows how much storage capacity remains available on the drive. TravelDrive ID features an ergonomic design, a metallic color scheme, a blue LED indicator light, and is available in 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB storage sizes.

ATP

ATP (http://flash.atpinc.com) introduced the 150X ProMax CF card, a next-generation super high-speed flash memory card for high-end digital SLRs, and current and future multimedia devices. These water and temperature-resistant, dust-proof, ESD-proof cards are built to withstand any environment your device can and last up to 10 times longer than generic CF memory. The 150X ProMax CF weighs only 10.0 grams and features a read/write speed of 22.5 MB/s, and 18MB/s.
