EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY (www.kodak.com) donated a Kodak Trendsetter 800 III Quantum Platesetter and Kodak Prinergy EVO Workflow system to California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), as part of an effort to upgrade Cal Poly's Digital Imaging Lab and expand student interest in photography and imaging-related fields. The lab is now equipped with two Kodak Trendesetters, as well as black-and-white, color digital, and variable printing systems.
EFOTOLAB (www.efotolab.com) announced their new LTD pricing program, which now allows photographers to upload up to 2,500 images for free and pay a commission only when they sell a print. VERTUS (www.vertustech.com), the graphics and imaging software division of Heligon, announced the donation of 88 copies of Fluid Mask, a cut-out tool and Adobe Photoshop plug-in, to the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Print Media. RIT plans to utilize the software to improve the technical and professional education programs offered at the School of Print Media's NTID.

"THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW" (www.artofphotographyshow.com), an international exhibition, opened April 14 and will run to May 28, 2007, at the Lyceum Theatre Galley, located in San Diego's historic Gaslamp Quarter. Approximately 20,000 people are expected to view the Show during the six-week run. The exhibit features 103 works from the 9,800 entries submitted by artists representing 37 countries.
THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART (www.nga.gov) presents "Foto: Modernity in Central Europe, 1918–1945," which will premiere June 10 and run through September 3, 2007, then travel to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (October 5, 2007-January 2, 2008); the Milwaukee Art Museum (February 9-May 4, 2008); and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (June 7-August 31, 2008). The exhibition tells the story of photography's success in Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and Austria during the interwar decades. The National Gallery of Art will offer a diverse program of lectures, films, and concerts in conjunction with the exhibition. Particularly noteworthy is an extensive film series, Modernity and Tradition, which will travel with the exhibition.
