EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY (www.kodak.com) donated a Kodak Trendsetter 800 III Quantum Platesetter and Kodak Prinergy EVO Workflow system to California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), as part of an effort to upgrade Cal Poly's Digital Imaging Lab and expand student interest in photography and imaging-related fields. The lab is now equipped with two Kodak Trendesetters, as well as black-and-white, color digital, and variable printing systems.

EFOTOLAB (www.efotolab.com) announced their new LTD pricing program, which now allows photographers to upload up to 2,500 images for free and pay a commission only when they sell a print. Photographers opting for the LTD program will have full access to Efotolab.com's image storage system, e-commerce capabilities, and professional digital photo laboratory.

VERTUS (www.vertustech.com), the graphics and imaging software division of Heligon, announced the donation of 88 copies of Fluid Mask, a cut-out tool and Adobe Photoshop plug-in, to the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Print Media. RIT plans to utilize the software to improve the technical and professional education programs offered at the School of Print Media's NTID.

THE INTERNATIONAL IMAGING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (www.I3a.org) has conferred its prestigious annual Leadership Award upon Antonio M. Perez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Eastman Kodak Company. Given annually since 1980, I3A's Leadership Award recognizes individuals in the international imaging community who have exhibited the exemplary qualities and innovative vision of leaders.

THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PHOTOSHOP PROFESSIONALS (www.photoshopuser.com) announced the Guru Award winners for the East Coast Photoshop World Conference & Expo in Boston. The Guru Awards are a Photoshop competition exclusively for conference attendees of Photoshop World, created to recognize innovation and creativity. Winners included: Matt Zumbo, Scott Montegomery, Eduardo Rizo, Daniel Johnson, Luis Ramirez, Michael Green, Laura Behnke, Stephen Power, and Judy Morse.

ROLAND DGA CORPORATION (www.rolanddga.com) recently expanded its sales force with the addition of three new members focused on serving the company's growing customer base. Tony Miller has been named national accounts manager; Jim Day was named regional sales manager for the Western region; and Joe Garcia has been promoted to the newly created position of supplies & accessories customer service specialist.

Exhibitions

THE SANTA BARBARA MUSEUM OF ART (www.SBMA.net) presents "Peering Beneath the Surface," an exhibition showcasing Recent SBMA Acquisitions with Ansel Adams images over time. On view since April 27 through June 23, 2007, the exhibition features popular Ansel Adams prints like "Refugio Beach," taken in Santa Barbara in the 1940s. Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visit the company website for further details.

"THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW" (www.artofphotographyshow.com), an international exhibition, opened April 14 and will run to May 28, 2007, at the Lyceum Theatre Galley, located in San Diego's historic Gaslamp Quarter. Approximately 20,000 people are expected to view the Show during the six-week run. The exhibit features 103 works from the 9,800 entries submitted by artists representing 37 countries.

THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART (www.nga.gov) presents "Foto: Modernity in Central Europe, 19181945," which will premiere June 10 and run through September 3, 2007, then travel to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (October 5, 2007-January 2, 2008); the Milwaukee Art Museum (February 9-May 4, 2008); and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (June 7-August 31, 2008). The exhibition tells the story of photography's success in Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and Austria during the interwar decades. The National Gallery of Art will offer a diverse program of lectures, films, and concerts in conjunction with the exhibition. Particularly noteworthy is an extensive film series, Modernity and Tradition, which will travel with the exhibition.
