With today's digital workflow, many photographers begin visualizing a client's album while moving about the dance floor at the wedding. Some begin laying it out as soon as they've retouched the images, while others send the couple home with proofs and await their selections.
Whatever the workflow, the new software programs offered by album companies make it quick and easy to design one fabulous keepsake.
In addition to designing the layout on the computer or Web, you can print and assemble albums yourself. Or send negatives or printed pages to a bookbinder to complete the album. A number of album companies even have in-house designers to create storybook layouts for your clients.
Frame manufacturers have also been busy introducing new options to compliment the changing styles that contemporary brides desire. And there are plenty of traditional offerings, too. Shadow-box frames allow brides to display imagery and mementoes of the Big Day. Great new mat styles and options enhance any framed photo.
Album options abound, from highly stylized digital albums to library-bound, flush-mounted albums, and economically priced slip-in albums. One of the hot trends of the past few years is the coffee table-style book, complete with dust jacket. Proof albums and folios, image boxes, designer mats and frames also present a myriad of options for showcasing your images.
