Nikon Discontinues Nikonos V
Due to a substantially diminished market for underwater photography equipment, Nikon has decided to end production of the Nikonos V camera body. Repair service, however will be available and is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Customers can continue to purchase accessories for their Nikonos V cameras through 2002.

SanDisk Corporation promoted Sanjay Mehrotra, 43, to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. Zapature.com announced the launch of its online stock photography gallery at www.zapature.com. Zapature.com allows photographers to store their work in an online gallery for as little as ten cents per image, per month while Zapature.com markets them to photo buyers around the world. Customers deal directly with the photographers to purchase images.
Photographers registered as part of the Zapature.com network are paid to fulfill specific photo assignments close to their geographic location. The site includes a simple upload feature for building an online gallery or submitting assignment photos.
