New Family of Digicams, Panasonic Introduces iPalms

Olympus America Inc. introduced the first member in its new family of point & shoot digital cameras, the Camedia Brio D-100. The Brio D-100 features a 1.3 MP CCD, offering a maximum resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels. Featuring a 5.5mm f2.8Ð11 Auto Focus Olympus lens with digital 2X telephoto, and two frames per second Burst mode. To make downloading simple, the Brio D-100 USB AutoConnect technology allows users to plug the camera directly into any USB-configured computer.


Schneider Takes The Glare Out

Schneider Optics is introducing its new 95mm Slim-Line Circular Polarizing Filter for use with medium-format and large-format lenses, or any other lenses having a 95mm diameter threaded barrel. B+W Slim-Line Polarizing Filters are made of optical glass that is precision ground and polished for plane parallelism, the company said, adding all are tested with a laser interferometer to ensure flatness and the perfect parallel relationship of both sides.


Ink Jet Canvas

BF/Ink Jet Media has introduced Artist Grade Millenium Canvas, a cotton weave paper for use on wide-format digital printers. The Artist Grade Millenium Canvas has a more typical texture than other canvases. The paper is coated with a flexible, water resistant polymer and a new kaolin-based inkjet pigment and is available in 24- to 60-inch rolls. Panasonic will begin shipping its new 3.3 Mega Pixel iPalm digital cameras this spring. Models PV-DC3000-A and PV-DC3010 utilize the new Secure Digital media card. The new cameras come with an AC adapter, ArcSoft editing package. The PV-DC3000-A includes a 16MB SD Memory Card and the PV-DC3010, with a 32MB SD Memory Card, additional photo editing software titles and long-life Ni-MH batteries and quick charger.

New from RoadWired is the Photo/Video Pro bag with over 24 pockets and compartments. The bag can accomodate a complete 35mm, digital or video camcorder system. Sony ElectronicsÕ new CD Mavica digital still cameras, the MVC-CD200 and MVC-CD300, with 2.1 and 3.3 MP resolution, respectively, capture photos and MPEG video. SonyÕs new CD Mavica cameras record images to an 8 cm CD-R or CD-RW disc. The MVC-CD300 features a 3X Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar zoom lens. SeaLife introduced a new version of its popular ReefMaster camera with a clear Lexan housing. The ReefMaster CL features push button operation, a built-in flash, and automatic film advance.
