Brooks Institute Under Fire
Ventura County Star (California)
Career Education Corp. bought Brooks in 1999. The company is one of the largest chains of for-profit colleges in the nation.
It operates more than 80 campuses in the United States, Canada, England, France and the United Arab Emirates. More than 96,000 students are enrolled at its campuses.
