Bunch honed his skills and, in 2005, was named High School Announcer of the Year by the National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers.
Last year, as a college freshman, he returned to Kenwood to visit.
"I wasn't in the building 10 minutes before they gave me PA [public address] duty," Bunch said. "They said, `Matt, thank God you're here, we need someone to do the volleyball game tonight!'"
That performance was glitch-free.
"I checked all of the [players'] names beforehand," he said. "All I remember is that this time no parent turned around to give me a dirty stare."
