Photographer Mark McCarty:
Hardigg-Storm cases are tougher than nails! I dont really baby my equipment. We do a lot of location work, and they get thrown in and out of the car a lot, dragged around, up stairs, over hill and dale. On a shoot we actually did for Storm Cases, they wanted to show one of the cases in some rapids, so we took it to a waterfall, weighed it down with some rocks inside, and watched it go down the waterfall. It tumbled like 40 feet down all these rocks. We grabbed it at the bottom, and it had one little scratch on it. We did this three more times, photographing the case going down the waterfall, and when we were done, the rocks were dry as a bone and the case had never popped open.

Photographer Stephen Matera:
As an outdoor sports photographer, Ive struggled to find a pack that I can use in a variety of shooting situations. Because most of my shooting is done in the wilderness, Im usually shooting while partaking in the sport Im shooting. This means I have to have a pack that I can ski, snowboard, mountain bike, or hike with. Ive seen too many camera bag manufacturers trying to make a photo backpack, and they just dont get it. Mountainsmith gets it. A photo backpack is not just a camera bag that you carry differently: It has to be able to carry and protect photo gear, as well as have the room, features, and support of a backpack.
When Im out shooting all day in the snow, I need a pack in which I can carry a shovel, probe, food, water, and extra clothing. The Parallax photo backpack allows me to carry my photo gear and have immediate access to it, but it also has extra room and pockets for nonphoto gear I need to have with me while out in the wilderness. One feature I particularly appreciate having access to the camera gear through the back panel. This allows me to put the pack down on the snow on the front panel, access my photo gear, and not get snow all over the part of the pack I put against my back. Since Im shooting digital, I also appreciate the laptop pouch, which allows me to carry one pack for my photo gear and laptop.
